Position Overview
As a Talent &
Culture Intern, you'll be the welcoming face at our reception, providing
assistance to anyone entering the building with warmth and professionalism.
Your role extends to overseeing the checkout process in our employee store,
ensuring a seamless experience for our team members. Additionally, you'll play
a vital part in conducting employee engagement initiatives, fostering a
positive and inclusive workplace culture. Moreover, you'll support HR
operations by contributing to the daily functions of the Talent and Culture
team, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of our human
resources processes. This multifaceted role offers a unique opportunity to
engage with various aspects of talent management and organizational culture,
making a meaningful impact on our team's success.

- Supporting HR Operations: Contributing to the daily
operations of the People and Culture team, ensuring smooth and efficient
functioning.
- Maintaining Administrative Efficiency: Monitoring paperwork
completion status, proactively following up with employees to ensure all
documentation is in order.
- Supporting Recruitment: Aiding in recruitment activities, from
posting job openings and screening resumes to contacting applicants and
coordinating interview schedules.
- Employee Engagement Initiatives: Take a lead role in conducting employee engagement initiatives, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture to enhance employee satisfaction and retention. Take the lead on employee-centric social media programs to foster open communication and recognition.
- Front Desk and Employee Store Management: Serve as the welcoming face at the reception, providing professional assistance to visitors. Manage the checkout process in the employee store, ensuring a seamless experience for employees.
Preferred qualifications and
skills:
- - Currently enrolled in a post-secondary
program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or another related field
- - Experience in customer service or guest
relations an asset, with great communication skills.
- - Demonstrated strong time management and
organizational skills.
- - Able to leverage technology, skilled in social
media and MS Office. Experience with LMS or HRIS an asset.
- - Basic understanding of HR principles, best practices, and employment legislation including Nova Scotia Employment Standards and the Worker’s Compensation Board.
- - Quick learner, detail oriented with a
high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional
criminal background check every two years.
