Position Summary:

Spokane Club is a membership-based organization, and member happiness is a primary goal of all staff. As part of the Member Happiness team, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing strategies primarily designed to increase new membership sales, engage with current members to increase member retention, and promote a positive image of the organization. This is a collaborative position working with the Club’s department heads and staff. This position is a highly skilled role requiring the knowledge and execution of current digital marketing tools and software, including design programs and the ability to utilize analytics and trends for strategy development.

In this role, you will actively identify key areas for innovative transformation, develop plans according to varying timelines, and manage these processes by aligning innovation goals with the club’s broader business objectives. To ensure success you should be detail-driven, strategic, motivated, and have a forward-leaning approach to business. Responsibilities also include conducting periodic market research to provide information essential for revising current programs that enhance the Club’s competitiveness in the marketplace, as well as for fiscal and operational analysis as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement external marketing plans and strategies to generate new membership leads, catering/event leads and hotel bookings, through the use of internal marketing channels (website, social media, etc.), paid social & search campaigns, and use of agency partners.
  • Develop and implement internal marketing & communication plans and campaigns to promote all club programming across all departments and at all locations through the use of digital channels, email, social media, print ads and collateral.
  • Support and promote new and existing creative internal events. Grow participation in events through various marketing strategies on all channels and communicate with members and property staff to help ensure coordination of activities during all phases of events.
  • Maintain and update the Club’s website including design, content, media and SEO optimization, working with outside agencies/ partners, as needed. Work with the Club’s technology team to ensure its mobile application is functioning appropriately.
  • Reputation management – actively monitor and engage in customer reviews in all digital spaces – True Review, annual NGF surveys, Yelp, Google, social media, etc. Work with department heads to ensure timely follow-up with service recoveries.
  • Review and analyze internal and external market information, which reflects member spend, usage, and satisfaction with Club’s programs and services, as well as external market & competitor data and trends.
  • Monitor and track results of marketing and sales efforts, analyze budget variances and recommend revised action plans to achieve budgeted goals.
  • Meeting with stakeholders at different levels to identify areas of innovation and growth.
  • Identifying innovation trends and business opportunities within the market.
  • Leading conversations with team leaders to enhance the innovative potential of the business.
  • Developing, strategizing, and planning new interventions that will drive innovation.
  • Creating and overseeing a comprehensive long-term innovation strategy for the club.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to enhance innovative thinking around the club.
  • Expanding on the organization’s long-term innovative capabilities.
  • Advising management on yearly, medium-term, long-term, and future innovation goals.
  • Ensure the efficient and timely submission of all required operational, financial, budgetary and related marketing and sales reports.
  • Flexibility and willingness to attend Club and community events including evenings and weekends, and perform other duties as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in marketing, strategic planning, customer service, and digital marketing development and execution including social media, email, website, and other marketing platforms.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of design programs. Preferred experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, and other video editing and production tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with track record of effectively dealing with various personality types, including members, guests, department heads, and community members.
  • Positive attitude; take pride in work and ownership in job.
  • Customer-service orientation to create an atmosphere of genuine care for members and guests and to provide a high level of personalized service.
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act quickly, problem solve, and perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional, helpful, and poised demeanor.
  • Solid computer skills with strong emphasis on Microsoft platform with presentation and publishing software experience preferred.
  • Jonas Club Management software experience preferred.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume office environment.
  • Previous leadership experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Neat, professional appearance at all times.
