Operations Manager
With a great local reputation for our food & drink offering, we are a prestigious golf club (top 100 in England) in the desirable town of Lytham on Fylde coast. We have a full and active membership, a packed competition diary and would like to think we are one of the best know and friendliest clubs in the area. Responsible for a small team, the successful candidate will report to the Club General Manager and be responsible for F&B provision for two Bars & Restaurants and the Club’s Half Way House.
We are looking for someone to join us on a journey as we develop our golf and F&B offering, following a recent £1.65m refurbishment of its front of house areas, to become one of the most desirable Clubs in Lancashire for visitors whilst making sure our loyal members are well catered for. The right person would be hands-on, friendly, have a great service ethos and understand what works at a great golf club.

As Operations Manager you will…
Lead a flexible team, with a ‘hands-on’ approach, including part-time, casual and seasonal staff
Work with the General Manager to implement and manage recruitment, induction, training and staff retention processes
Create and implement rolling business development plans for the golf club
Introduce initiatives such as trialling new food offers
Work with management team to ensure that marketing plans are put into place to support events, which may include management of social media and review sites
Manage staff to ensure the appropriate levels of customer satisfaction and making sure that staff are trained to deliver fantastic customer service
Lead the operation to achieve Key Performance Indicator targets, to include sales turnover, profit margins and stock control
Ensure all Health and Safety, Licensing and industry legislative requirements are met
Show flexibility as evening and weekend working are a pre-requisite of the role
Skills and Experience Required
The post-holder must be a Personal License Holder, and be in possession of a UK Driving License
A good degree of competency and familiarity with IT software packages with previous experience of Epos systems
Previous commercial experience of working in a similar role, within a manged operation, with a demonstrable track record of success in achieving targets
Thorough knowledge of planning and leading food and wet operations, including stock control
Robust and up to date knowledge of Cellar Management
Previous experience of staff management
Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, with the ability to adopt a hands-on approach and lead by example
Previous experience of managing a customer-facing operation, with the ability to implement a high standard customer experience and resolve problems swiftly.
