Position Summary: Troon is recruiting for future business development as we grow our portfolio across both coast of Florida, with a focus on Southeast and Southwest Florida. There are several placements expected across multiple brands within the portfolio (Troon Golf, Troon Prive, Indigo Sports). Candidates will possess a desire to provide leadership and to create a culture of hospitality and accountability.
This is a great opportunity for high-energy individuals with a keen eye for detail, a desire to develop people and to foster a fun environment for associates, members and guests.
Qualified candidates will preferably have a bachelor’s or associate degree from an industry recognized institution, 3 or more years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar country club or luxury environment. The head golf professional will be required to work effectively within an established team of department managers, be an effective leader who fosters a positive, cooperative, and cohesive team environment and is able to build and maintain professional connections with fellow associates and interact with club members. This position will also oversee and maintain all facets of the golf operation including day-to-day management. Provide professional support, direction, management, training and leadership to golf staff associates. Promote and nurture member relations and enhance the quality of the golf experience.
The candidate must have a demonstrated and verifiable career path of successful golf operations management, including tournaments, merchandising, range, instruction, cart fleet and other operations. The head professional will assists in the development and day-to-day tracking of the budget and business plan. He/she creates a member service oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets their needs while providing a high level of member service. Experience working closely with the club’s volunteer leadership (such as Golf Committees) to identify the needs and expectations of the members, along with programs and events which raise satisfaction levels.
The Head Golf Professional reports directly to the General Manager of each facility and manages department members that may include, but are not limited to: Tournament Coordinator, Golf Instructors, Golf Services Manager, Assistant Golf Professionals, Retail Manager, Shop Attendants, Outside service associates and other golf personnel.
