Contra Costa Country Club in Pleasant Hill, CA is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service. Compensation $50,000 – $60,000
General Purpose Support the Head Golf Professional in his absence and help to gel the Golf Shop associate team in a busy high end Country Club.
Essential Duties: • Manage the daily operations of the Golf Shop including Inventory, tee sheet applications, POS • system operation, and handicap system coordination • Help the Associate team by managing the calendar of daily activities for lessons and daily activities while being mindful of budgetary constraints • Bring energy and passion for the game of golf • Initiates and promotes all Club and Association events from promotion, registration, day of coordination, scoring, reporting, record keeping and improvement plan implementation • Supervises preparation for all Monday golf events • Create dynamic relationships with the membership • Create dynamic relationships with the associate team • Assists the Head Golf Professional in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems • Manage the Membership Services team with the Outside Coordinator • Merchandise the Golf Shop and help coordinate all associates tasks for upkeep of Shop responsibilities • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction • Conducts staff meetings with subordinates • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance • Play with the Membership in social and competitive situations • Maintain a cool, calm and poised disposition in the Golf Shop at all times • Derive a sense of pride and ownership for the golf operation • Have a creative approach to the workplace for problem solving and event facilitation • Bring a strong sense of organization to the Golf Operation • Bring an ability to review current procedures and update to improve member experience and efficiency of service • Help run a safe, fun and high energy junior program • Teach lessons to the membership when necessary • Promote Golf Shop sales and join a golf company as an ambassador • Regular and reliable attendance • Performs other duties as required • Maintains Active Status in the PGA program and actively works to attain Class A status
Education/Experience: • Level 2 PGA Program with 5 years experience
