This position is responsible for managing of daily flow of soft-goods and accessories into the Embroidery facilities in support of Sales, Production, and Inventory objectives to maintain timely deliveries of custom products to customers. This position entails production, distribution planning, and execution activities for assigned custom logo soft-goods and accessories within the assigned locations. The Production Planner/Analyst is responsible for coordinating logo orders from pre-book to shipped status and will work closely with Sales Operations, the Custom Logo team, and the Embroidery department.


  • Generate Planned vs. Actual reporting of production schedules, identify main root causes for disparities, and ensure that the daily production is a reflection of such.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production plans vs. actual and communicate changes and/or issues to all affected parties.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on all Embroidery facility performance, verify “pack and rack” deliveries to ensure on time shipment, monitor pre-production orders for anomalies/errors, and communicate sales order inventory shortages to Order Management (OM) and Operations Management
  • Continuously maintain production schedules to enable excellent communication within the Embroidery department, Sales Operations, and Inventory teams to ensure the plan’s successful and accurate execution.
  • Monitor SAP output daily to maintain and execute the dynamic production plan.
  • Measure and report on the output of the production floor and ensure execution of plans.
  • Recommend capacity shifts based on forward looking production plans.
  • Manage ramp-up plans as they relate to the manufacturing strategy, labor planning, and creating “pack and rack” purchase orders on a daily basis during “pack and rack” season.
  • Plan Embroidery production activities for each machine and operator based on product type, stitch count, thread colors, type of machine, “in-hands” date, and other categories to minimize downtime and maximize thru-put.
  • Coordinate, communicate, and monitor rush orders with OM and all Embroidery facilities; Run availability checks on logo orders for newly received inventory.
  • Project-oriented duties aimed at continuous process improvement with the intent of improving the flow of finished goods through production to distribution while meeting production ramps and seasonality and guarding against inventory obsolescence.
  • May occasionally cover duties of others within the department in special circumstances (holidays, vacation schedules, PTO, special projects) and participate in special projects outside the normal scope of duties as required by departmental or corporate needs.

  • Strong knowledge of SAP or other similar enterprise wide MRP system.
  • High degree of initiative and ownership, attention to detail, and the discipline to follow through on assigned tasks.
  • General knowledge of industry practices, standards, and techniques.
  • Will be required to regularly apply scheduling, planning and control principles and concepts in execution of duties.
  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of large to very large scope and complexity, often creating or revising company or departmental policies in the process.
  • Ability to work well with, and in many cases lead, others in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Must be capable of managing several priorities effectively and be able to identify and recommend best course of action from several alternatives.
  • Must have ability to understand financial impact of decisions.
  • Must demonstrate hands on experience in implementing and/or using ERP and related computer systems and technologies in areas of Demand Planning, MPS, RCCP, MRP, SFC, APS, Logistics and Inventory Management
  • Experienced in Project Management techniques/planning and managing launches of new products a plus.
  • Experienced in working in single and multiple Manufacturing Plant and Distribution Warehouse environments.
  • Ability to understand priority needs of the company and adjust when necessary or when directed


  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in field relevant to job description (e.g. Operations, Materials Management, Industrial Engineering), or equivalent job experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Production Planning or related field.
  • Computer experience required / Excel / Word experience preferred
  • SAP experience helpful
