JOB OVERVIEW

The Analyst, Sales Planning will contribute to the development and delivery of useful monthly sales forecasts to support the development and execution of the sales strategy and category initiatives. This position will provide decision support and actionable insights to the various Planning and Sales Channel Leaders, to drive business value and growth opportunities. The Analyst, Sales Planning is responsible for business and data analysis, requirements, and delivery inclusive of reporting and insight generation.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create timely and accurate monthly sales forecasts in partnership with Sales Channel Leads; forecasts to include gross and net financial projections by channel, top account, product category at a seasonal and monthly level
  • Align with sales partners to properly reflect risk and opportunities
  • Utilize appropriate analytical reports and tools to provide daily support to sales channel leaders, managing existing (i.e., weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) reports on channel performance
  • Manage large datasets to produce Power BI/SAP content that is both efficient and responsive
  • Partner with sales channel leaders and account managers to maintain reporting tools and provide visibility into seasonal performance
  • Monitor and audit sales data for accuracy and completeness
  • Build and maintain models to support decision making with regards to planning and sales forecasting processes
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards and data visualizations that provide valuable insight to business users and decision-makers
  • Consolidate, document, and communicate key findings, definitions and insights across various analytics projects
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and document requirements for analytical solutions
  • Manage project tasks and timelines and communicate progress
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify criticality and impact, and provide appropriate workarounds or solutions
  • Serve as a trusted data and analytics partner and advisor while champion data-driven solutions
  • Generate requested ad-hoc sales reports

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-look ups, power query, macros, sorts and filters)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Power BI and SAP Business Objects
  • Experience with SAP ERP system(s), and applications a plus
  • Ability to analyze data / detail and perform structured decision-making
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented, team environment
  • Ability to take initiative, follow-through on requests until completion, and utilize a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and foster effective cross functional relationships
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical / quantitative field (i.e., statistics, economics, mathematics, marketing analytics)
  • Minimum 3 years of applicable analytical experience
