Business Analyst Inventory Finance Reporting

Job Description

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining required financial reporting in support of Operational activities. The role includes data analysis and Executive Level summaries intended to provide the clarity required for Open to Buy and inventory management decisions. The Business Analyst is responsible for system-generated monthly reporting of Cost of Goods Sold, Purchasing and Resulting Inventories across the North America Region. This person will be expected to interact with Finance teams and be able to relate Operational results in financially relevant terms.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Planning Central, Viaware WMS, Oracle EBS, and other systems to gather relevant data

  • Utilize reporting tools such as Business Objects and Domo to create meaningful and actionable reports and visuals

  • Manage all Financial reporting and Forecast financials including but not limited to:

    • Inventory OH, excess, GIT, and forecasted inventory levels

    • Forecast DIO (Days Inventory On-hand) & Turns for all categories

    • Planning Buy Plans, Production builds

    • Supply Coverage, Order Book Conversion Forecast & Opportunities

    • Bookings vs Forecast

    • Monthly Open To Buy $

    • Ability to develop and manage inventory costs. (Purchase, landed, recapitalization)

  • Lead Continuous Improvement Efforts on key KPI’s (OTTP)

  • Generate ad-hoc and systemic reporting critical to execution of product launches

  • Work cross functionally to develop reporting and visual tools that identify opportunities for increased efficiency

  • Update, present and drive analytics on key KPIs, including but not limited to custom order guarantees, inventory and working capital performance, booking versus forecast information, and order book fulfillment

  • Support all Sales and Operations reporting initiatives

  • Support training and standard work documentation related to Planning Central, Viaware WMS, Oracle EBS, and other systems

  • Support project work and sustaining ongoing shared inventory and distribution structure

  • Drive and support continuous improvement projects designed to increase efficiency and manage down cost

  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills requiring use of data analysis tools

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with account partners, understand their business and key trigger points, and how we can track to their goals to increase our future order book

  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Proficient in database applications and reporting, including Planning Central, Oracle EBS, Viaware WMS, Business Objects, and DOMO

  • Aptitude to learn new systems quickly

  • Knowledge of golf equipment and basic bill of materials (BOM) components

  • Able to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects at one time while meeting deadlines

  • Strong communication skills with customer service mindset

  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization

  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills required

Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:

  • B.A. in Business, Finance, or Statistics

  • 3-5 years of related experience in data analysis required

  • Strong understanding of supply chain planning and forecasting processes

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage

  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary

  • Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption

  • Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials
