Bothwell Castle Golf Club is a flat parkland course with mature trees framing many of its fairways and excellent greens. Our relatively flat and undulating fairways, along with our large, modern clubhouse make us a popular venue for visitors and visiting groups.
An incredible opportunity has arisen for a new General Manager to join Bothwell Castle Golf Club.
Job brief:
We are looking for a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets and operations of the Club
General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our budgets are maintained.
Main responsibilities:
· Design strategy and set goals for growth
· Control budgets and optimize expenses
· Ensure employees are motivated and productive
Day to day responsibilities:
· Oversee day-to-day operations of the Club and carry out policies laid down by the Main Committee
· Design strategy and set goals for growth
· Prepare and maintain budgets and optimize expenses
· Set policies and processes
· Motivating and leading a team of staff at all levels, ensuring employees work productively and develop professionally
· Ensure the course, clubhouse and other facilities are presented to the highest defined standards for members and visitors at all times
· Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
· Managing and implementation of the club’s marketing and social media strategy
· Prepare regular reports for the Committee
· Ensure the club is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to health and safety, employment, licensing and equality legislation
· Representing the Club effectively in its dealings with all third parties
· Provide solutions to issues (e.g., facility maintenance, employee conflicts, loss of business)
Requirements and skills:
· Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
· Experience in planning and budgeting
· Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, H&S, procurement, operations etc.)
· Strong analytical ability
· Excellent communication skills
· Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
· Problem-solving aptitude
