Job Description

Kitchen Manager- Purchasing and Receiving


•Must have a high level of computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word

•Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines

•Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate a commitment to customer service

•Physically fit with good stamina for physical tasks such as moving and lifting inventory and standing for long periods of time

•Ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds

•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus


•This position is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage purchasing, inventories, invoice processing, cost transfers, storeroom controls and assisting with all events

•Works directly with leaders throughout the club in a very hands-on position

•Develops a food and beverage purchasing and receiving procedure consistent with the clubs overall purchasing program

•Evaluates suppliers, negotiates contracts and pricing and reviews product quality

•Establishes a database of potential suppliers and cultivates working relationships to ease the process of acquiring new materials

•Minimizes inventory investment by monitoring, maintaining, and reporting appropriate levels of inventory in all phases of the inventory pipeline

•Maintains clear and organized records for accounting to ensure all reports and invoices are filed and stored properly

•Conducts inventory audits to determine inventory levels and needs

•Reconciles shipping invoices and receiving reports to ensure count accuracy

•Refuses acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items

•Adheres to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas

•Manges entire supply chain cycle from purchase order to receipt

•Oversees purchasing of all necessary products, including produce, meats, dry goods, etc

•Understands all menus, product offerings, packaging, and pricing

•Practices proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment

•Works closely with the Executive Chef regarding all products and inventories

•Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Director of Food & Beverage
